Cochlear Implant
- The First 48 Hours:
Leave the bandage in place. If the bandage seems to slip off the head, snug it down back in place. Remove the bandage after 24 hours. - You may shower and hair may be washed but the incision must be kept dry for 10 days. After 10 days it is okay to get the incision wet.
- Some dizziness, nausea and vomiting may be experienced after surgery.
- Make an appointment to see the doctor 7 – 10 days after surgery. Stitches, if necessary, will be removed at this visit.
- You should have an appointment with the audiologist at 4 weeks after surgery for your initial stimulation (turn on).
