The Bub Hub covers Professor Peter Friedland’s procedure on the first child to receive a cochlear implant through the Ear Science Institute of Australia’s Gift of Hearing program. 

Olivia Kilmister is one of more than 2,000 children in Western Australia who are impacted by significant hearing loss. 

Professor Peter Friedland performed the surgery on Olivia, who was born profoundly deaf and was diagnosed with congenital sensorineural hearing loss when she was only three months old.
